Welcome to Xvaren

A town of 1,104 on the shore of Lake Ninemile, where County Highway QQ crosses the cranberry marshes and the hills stop to let the flat land have a turn.

Xvaren has seven taverns, five churches, one stoplight, and a lake that is seven miles around and takes nine miles to walk. We have dairy farms to the west, potato fields to the east, and a Main Street that runs exactly down the middle of the disagreement. Visitors are welcome. Please pronounce the name however you were raised to.

Road report

County Highway QQ is open in both directions between the feed mill and the lake. Public Works reminds drivers that the stretch past the Lindqvist marsh is currently four-tenths of a mile longer than it was in September. This is seasonal and no cause for concern. Please allow extra time, and do not attempt to make it up on the return trip, as the road is the usual length going the other way.

Weather, as understood locally

Frost on the Bluff side by Thursday. Frost on the Sand side by Thursday also, though the Sand side would like it noted that theirs arrived first. Fog is expected on the marsh road most mornings. It has the right of way.
